Announcement of the Fourth National Assembly Between the National Indigenous Congress and the Indigenous Governing Council

By agreement of the Coordinating Commission of the National Indigenous Congress and the Indigenous Governing Council, and in compliance with the collective will of our general assembly, we here inform the peoples of the world that given that:
—The peoples that make up the National Indigenous Congress and the Indigenous Governing Council are living through a war waged from above that intends to destroy mother earth in order to earn millions of dollars by selling off minerals, water, forests, and rivers, by fracking to obtain hydrocarbons, by building industrial corridors, from supposedly clean energy projects that destroy territories, by building the Huexca thermoelectric plant that endangers the peoples of the volcano, by building megaproject infrastructure that causes dispossession in the south and southeast of the country, and through negotiations with death in all of its forms.
—We face violence and repression from all levels of the bad government and their narco-paramilitary groups who, in 2019 alone, have taken the lives of the following compañeros:
Samir Flores Soberanes, of the Nahua people, from Amilcingo, Morelos Julián Cortés Flores, of the Mephaa people, part of the house of justice in San Luis Acatlán, Guerrero Ignacio Pérez Girón, of the Tsotsil people, of the municipality of Aldama, Chiapas José Lucio Bartolo Faustino, Modesto Verales Sebastián, Bartolo Hilario Morales, and Isaías Xanteco Ahuejote, of the Nahua people, of the People’s Indigenous Council of Guerrero – Emiliano Zapata (CIPOG – EZ) Juan Monroy and José Luis Rosales, of the Nahua people, from Ayotitlán, Jalisco Feliciano Corona Cirino, Nahua compañero from Santa María Ostula, Michoacán
—That the bad government’s armed forces have put been put at the service of carrying out the violent capitalist reordering of the so-called Fourth Transformation, in which our territories and our very existence are offered up to big capital and particularly to the imperialist interests of the United States.
—That in our various meetings and gatherings with the compañeros of the CIG Support Networks, the Networks of Resistance and Rebellion, and the National and International Sixth, we have decided to continue to build our strength, to grow our struggle for life and dismantle this system of death.
—That there has been an alarming increase in aggressive activity from armed groups in the territories of originary peoples, particularly wherever CNI-CIG is organizing to weave a network of resistance and rebellion.
—That we who make up the CNI-CIG live under and understand capital’s war against the peoples of the world, which makes it necessary to together take a collective position in our struggle for the life of our mother earth and the peoples of the world.
We invite the peoples, nations, and indigenous tribes from Mexico and from outside Mexico to participate in the:
