To the Indigenous peoples of Mexico and the world
To the Zapatista Army of National Liberation
To the collectives, organizations, and networks of resistance on all continents
To civil society in solidarity with the life of our people
From the Autonomous Wixárika and Tepehuana Indigenous Community of San Lorenzo de Azqueltán, in the municipality of Villa Guerrero, Jalisco, we issue an urgent call: born from the pain, rage, and living memory of our brother indigenous agrarian authority Marcos Aguilar Rojas, murdered on November 26, 2025, and of our compañero Gabriel Aguilar Rojas, gravely wounded in the same attack.
Considering:
That our words arise in a dark time. The attack that took Marcos’ life was not an isolated event: it is the direct consequence of decades of armed aggressions, invasions of our communal sacred lands, paramilitary attacks, threats, and a whole structure of complicity and impunity, as demonstrated in the communique’s we have shared previously..
The community now faces extreme danger. The caciques and their groups of aggressors both the gunmen of before and the gunmen of today, continue to threaten; they patrol our roads with total impunity, protected by judicial operators, police, and officials who block investigations, cover up crimes, and ensure the continuation of the aggressions.
The violence is neither new nor isolated: it is a strategy of territorial dispossession, seeking to exterminate the community in order to seize thousands of hectares of communal sacred lands that have always belonged to our people.

Call for Global Action
We call on conscious peoples, human rights collectives and organizations, and national and international civil society to carry out decentralized actions in their territories, plazas, community centers, universities, embassies, or consulates from December 6 to 10, to make our fundamental demands resound, and to register the actions to be carried out via the email: cnicomunicacion@gmail.com
To make the following demands:
Justice for Marcos and Gabriel.
Punishment for the material and intellectual authors, and guarantees of non-repetition.
Security for the community of San Lorenzo de Azqueltán through the permanent presence of federal security forces to prevent new armed attacks.
Urgent titling of the Communal Land: That the federal government of Mexico recognize the historical responsibility and definitive title of the communal territories of San Lorenzo de Azqueltán.
Dismantling of the network of impunity that protects assassins, invaders, and caciques responsible for dispossession, violence, and death.
We also encourage individuals, collectives, artists, students, and communities around the world to send:
• Artworks
• Photos
• Videos
• Messages of solidarity
These expressions of support will help amplify the call for justice and strengthen the community’s struggle for life and land.
We also invite groups, organizations, and individuals to submit letters endorsing the demands above: letters calling for justice, land titling, protection of the community, and the dismantling of impunity to Mexican Consulates and Embassies in different geographies.
Respectfully,
December 2025
Because our struggle is for life,
For memory and for the protection of sacred communal land.
Because Marcos lives in every step we take.
